Eligibility: What dogs are eligible to run in HRC Hunt Tests?

UKC licensed HRC Hunt Tests are open to all breeds listed in the UKC Gun Dog group. To view the list click here: UKC Gun Dog group 

Registration: Does my dog have to be registered with UKC to run an HRC Hunt Test?

An eligible dog CAN enter an HRC hunt test without it being UKC registered but will incur an additional fee per entered dog.  No points will be counted towards UKC titles and recognition awards, until registration requirements are met. Registration must be completed within 60 days after the points were earned.

Membership: Do I have to be a member of HRC to run an HRC Hunt Test?

Non-members CAN enter an HRC hunt test but Seasoned, Finished and Upland entries will incur an additional fee per entered dog. Benefit opportunities will not apply such as HRC Points Club awards and HRC Foundation Scholarships as active membership is required for eligibility.

Judges: How can I become an HRC judge?

Prospective Judges must have a recommendation from their home club and have owned, trained and passed a dog at the level to be judged. Requirements for approval: 1) POINTS PASS from the level to be judged, for a dog you owned/handled within the past 10 years; 2) HUNTER SAFETY card or certificate showing completion of a Hunter Safety course; 3) CLUB RECOMMENDATION form completed and signed by an Officer of your Home Club; 4) JUDGE TEST successful completion of online judge test for current cycle; 5) SEMINAR completion of Judges Seminar within the prior 12 months. Started judges may receive "Conditional Approval" to begin apprenticeship as long as seminar is completed withing 6 months after they begin judging; 6) ADVANCEMENT Judges advancing from Started to Seasoned and from Seasoned to Finished must be approved by their Field Representative.
